Picnik Awesome!!!

Picnik is a free web based photo tool resource that is fairly user friendly.

Picnik is a powerful photo editing tool that allows you to pull pictures in from all the major photo sharing sites as well as directly from your computer such as facebook, myspace and twitter. It is completely web-based and therefore doesn't require any downloads or specific operating system.

It would be a very valuable tool to have in the classroom for teaching students about the different things it has example cropping, resizing, special effects, backgrounds, colour correction and so much more. One classroom application of a tool such as Picnik would be to touch-up images before including them on your classroom website.

Picnik is a great new way of creating and changing current photos (like photoshop) however it seems to be so much more simpler. The web page itself is a great hook in itself as it is full of colour and nice big writing and pictures to add to the affectiveness.

This will be a resource that I will be impleenting for such units of work (grandparents day) and to give students who may not be so interested in school work the opportunity to do something they enjoy.
